INTEC begins strategic planning 2023-2027
SANTO DOMINGO. -The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) began the process of formulating the institutional strategy 2023-2027, a strategic course that coincides with the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the academy in 2022.
In order to prioritize strategic thinking in the first place, a three-and-a-half-day workshop was held from September 15 to 18, in which a large group of managers, teachers and collaborators carried out the exercise to define the strategic north. following the Appreciative Inquiry approach.
In addition, last Thursday the 7th, an Expanded Academic Council continued, in which more participants from each Academic Area were integrated and the proposals resulting from the September workshop were known, a methodology and a calendar were defined for this phase of the strategic formulation process . With this, the academy intends to expand the participation of the entire community in this process, exchanges will continue in each Academic Area and in the groups of collaborators in the administrative areas.
“We are summoned to this process of strategic formulation by our past and our present, looking to the future because we have the opportunity and the duty to define an institutional strategy that, based on the positive core of the competencies and capacities demonstrated by those who have been and are INTEC, over five decades, we can further unleash the potential to make this, our Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, the avant-garde university. ”, said Julio Sánchez Maríñez, rector of INTEC.
The rector of the academy recalled that “to be avant-garde is to be trustworthy, to ensure not only that we do what we do well, but that we do what we must do very well, because, as Professor Theodore Levitt, from Harvard University, said: No there is nothing worse than doing very well what you should not do. That should be our purpose to honor the tradition to which we owe ourselves: to do very well what we should do ”.
The rector of INTEC pointed out that with the impulse of the vice-rectors, deans and division directors and the entire group that has been incorporated into this process, it is expected to have the best participation of the largest number of members of the hive.
He called on the entire community to actively participate in the work tables and contribute to the debates on the strategic north that the university should follow during the next five years.
