INTEC will teach virtual and suspends the sixtieth graduation ceremony to prevent the spread of COVID-19
SANTO DOMINGO. - The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) will teach virtual at the undergraduate, postgraduate, continuing education and International Language Center levels Starting this Tuesday, March 17 and until the end of the February-April 2020 quarter, as part of the prevention measures to prevent the spread and spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
Likewise, it informed through a statement the suspension of the sixtieth (LX) graduation ceremony, following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Ministries of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) and of Public Health.
The event that was scheduled to be held on April 18 at 10:00 in the Sansoucí terminal, is postponed until further notice taking into account the recommendations for the temporary suspension of mobility activities, academic trips, conferences , congresses and graduations that involve concentration of people.
In this next ordinary university graduation they would receive their degrees approximately 700 new professionals, in which the first promotion of the degree in Cinema and Audiovisual Communication just like the first group of graduates of the Excellence Teacher Training Program, sponsored by the Dominican government through the National Institute of Education and Training for Teachers (INAFOCAM), the Ministries of Education (MINERD) and the MESCyT.
INTEC has ordered the reinforcement of hygiene measures, the suspension of all institutional activities and the deployment of a preventive campaign and the promotion of virtual meetings. Likewise, it has been recommended the suspension, temporarily, of mobility activities, academic trips, conferences, congresses and graduations that involve the concentration of people.
Through its platform INTEC 711, as well as on its social networks, has maintained an intense communication campaign, with the entire university community, regarding the symptoms of the virus, the forms of contagion, the protocol for people infected or suspected of contagion with coronavirus, among other aspects of interest.
