INTEC will teach a diploma in Educational Management and Leadership

SANTO DOMINGO- The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) next to National Institute for Teacher Training and Education (INAFOCAM) will train 531 directors, assistant directors and pedagogical coordinators of Puerto Plata with the diplomat in Leadership and Educational Management a program aimed at improving management skills in educational centers and developing leadership skills. 

The program that begins in September will have participants from the seven educational districts of Regional 11 of Puerto Plata, including Sosúa, Puerto Plata, Imbert, Villa Isabela, Altamira, Mamey and Luperón.  

The opening ceremony was held this Saturday, August 19, in Puerto Plata and was attended by Francisco Ramírez, executive director of INAFOCAM, the level coordinator of the INTEC Social Sciences and Humanities Area, Irene Machado and Leonidas Payamps Cruz, director of regional 11 of the Ministry of Education. In turn, a representative sample of participants attended, by educational district. 

The director of INAFOCAM, Francisco Ramírez, referred to the institution's actions to strengthen the educational system from the academic and administrative spheres, including investment in training for sector personnel. "Management is a science, and you have to have specific skills to run an educational center," he said, aspects that will be addressed within the program. 

Leonidas Payamps Cruz, director of the Puerto Plata educational region, expressed her satisfaction with the training, which she believes will strengthen the quality of education in the area.  

“Education is advancing towards an inclusive, equitable, quality education, and we need to continue advancing to continue contributing to this educational system that demands of us, that demands of us, and that is really ready to receive better from us as agents of the Dominican educational system. learning and management processes,” said Payamps.  

Irene Machado, coordinator of the INTEC Social Sciences and Humanities Area, described the diploma as a journey of self-discovery, construction and growth for the participants. “We will address topics such as strategic planning, resource management, effective communication, and fostering an inclusive and collaborative learning environment. But beyond technical skills, this diploma also invites us to reflect on our role as agents of change in education”, she expressed in a few words of welcome.  

 "With this training we seek to ensure that the actors of the management teams involved improve leadership skills, evidencing themselves in institutional and pedagogical management," said Professor Adelaida Florentino, INTEC teacher and general coordinator of the course, who explained the objectives and the logistics of the next few months of the training.  

One of the participants in the Diploma, Celiné Martínez Infante, teaching coordinator at the José Dubeau High School, considered the Diploma appropriate for this moment in her professional cycle. “I have only been in the position for one year and I feel that through this opportunity that is being offered to me, I will be able to perform better in my duties, which will be reflected in the improvement of the management of the center and in great opportunities to further raise the quality of teaching our students,” he said.  

The program will be financed by INAFOCAM and will be developed in the blended modality in a period of four months. It has an academic load of 90 hours and as a transversal axis a process of accompaniment of expert teachers in educational management and leadership, national and international.
