INTEC graduates the first ten engineers in Cybersecurity
SANTO DOMINGO. - The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) delivered the country to first ten graduates of Cybersecurity Engineering trained in the country, a pioneering program whose professionals apply knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering to solving complex computer security problems.
The group of graduates is made up of Franklin Antonio Arias Castillo, Manuel Alfau Martínez, Luis Cepeda Andújar, Robert Comas Candelario, Aileen De León Beltré, César Díaz Pérez, Rocío Domínguez Pimentel, Winston Florentino Tejada, Claudia Moya De los Santos and Ariel Nin Montero , who obtained employment in local and foreign companies several quarters before completing their studies. Graduates received their degrees during INTEC's sixty-third graduation, held this Saturday, November 20 at the Sansoucí Convention Center.
The career, which began at INTEC in 2016, trains graduates to prevent risks and incidents in critical technological infrastructures that affect the privacy and integrity of data, unauthorized access, or vulnerabilities that put the continuity of services at risk. and computer systems of organizations.
This is the first face-to-face graduation ceremony carried out by INTEC, after the COVID-19 pandemic, in which 1012 new undergraduate and graduate professionals were invested. To comply with the distancing protocol and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the university held two graduation ceremonies, the first at 10:00 in the morning and a second at 4:00 in the afternoon.
During the event, which was broadcast through INTEC's YouTube channel, 605 women and 407 men were invested, of which 589 graduates (58.20%) belong to the undergraduate level and 423 (41.80%) to the postgraduate level.

The rector of INTEC, Julio Sánchez Maríñez invited the graduates to look at the future that is already opening up for them as professionals. "I trust that they do so with the seal of intecianos and, thus, committed to the social transformation of the country, to the continuous promotion of the quality of life of its inhabitants and to the preservation and development of their moral and material heritage, for their enjoyment. of yourselves and to bequeath it improved to the next generations to come ”.
The guest speaker at the graduation was the engineer Cristian Reyna Tejada, president of the Savings and Credit Bank (FONDESA), who exhorted new professionals to set goals as high as they can be, and strive to always achieve them in a legitimate, honest and transparent way.
Orquidea La Beet, graduate of International Business, when delivering the order speech on behalf of the entire promotion stated that “today we begin a new path towards freedom of knowledge, which we must assume as ethical and responsible professionals. At this stage I have learned that it is useless to be a scholar in the matter, if we do not use it to serve others and apply it ethically ”.
The swearing in of the graduates was made by Laura Eliza Aristy Camejo, a graduate of the Film and Audiovisual Communication career, who was invested with Suma Cum Laude honors.
Statistics
29.01% graduated with Suma Cum Laude honors; 46.30% Magna Cum Laude and 24.69 Cum Laude. Of the total graduates of the grade level, 30.56% belong to the Health Sciences Area; 30.05 to the Engineering Area; 21.22% to the Area of Economics and Business, 10.53% to Basic and Environmental Sciences and 7.64% to the Area of Social Sciences and Humanities.
While at the postgraduate level 42.08% belong to the Social Sciences and Humanities; 27.42 to the Health Sciences Area; 17.73% to Economy and Business; 12.06% to the Engineering Area; and 0.71% to Basic and Environmental Sciences.
