INTEC graduates cohort of women in International Trade Management


SANTO DOMINGO- Five professionals became the last generation of graduates of the Master's in International Trade Management, program of Double Degree that is developed in conjunction with the International Center for Economic Policy for Sustainable Development (CINPE) of the National University of Costa Rica, (A).

During the conference "Internationalization of Higher Education", Arlette Pichardo, a professor at the National University of Costa Rica, explained that the double degree represents the joint effort between both institutions. “In this new glocally integrated world, the internationalization of higher education is not an option, it is a responsibility and a commitment,” she specified.

Pichardo recognized Alba Henríquez, a teacher in the INTEC Economics and Business Area with whom he collaborated so that in 1995 the master's degree in International Trade Management began to be taught.

The Ambassador of Costa Rica, Edwin Arias Chinchilla, evidenced the predominant participation of women with the six graduates, and thanked the academic collaboration developed between both countries. “Relations between the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica are very strengthened in different areas. Today we can affirm that they are brother countries with shared visions in the protection of Human Rights, in the empowerment of women and care for the environment”, said the Costa Rican ambassador to the country.

The graduates received their diplomas signed and sealed by UNA by Marco Otoya, director of the CINPE-UNA teaching program, and Henry Rosa, coordinator of the master's degree in International Trade Management.

Among the graduates are Angela Abreu, Crislena Méndez, Glenys Reynoso, María del Carmen Vargas and Melissa Yunes.

The teaching team of the postgraduate program in International Trade Management is made up of Costa Rican and Dominican professionals with experience in international trade activities. Manuel Peña, dean of the INTEC Economics and Business Area, made visible future opportunities for collaboration between the two universities.

The event concluded with the words of Henry Rosa, who congratulated the graduates of the master's degree for the efforts made throughout their professional training. Among the topics included in the curriculum are Economic Policy for International Trade Management, International Management, Statistics for International Business, Theories of International Trade and International Market Prospecting, among others.
