INTEC extends rectory period temporarily
SANTO DOMINGO. -The Board of Regents of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) extended the rectory period temporarily, for which, Rolando M. Guzmán, whose management would end on September 15, 2020, will stay in position until the incorporation of a new rector or rector.
The Board of Regents of INTEC reported that in a session on April 30, it extended the deadline for the reception of candidates for rector or rector until September 30 of the current year, taking into account the special conditions caused by the COVID-pandemic. 19.
The decision, which appears in a resolution dated August 20, responds to the provisions of Chapter IV of the Regulations for the Selection and Appointment of the rector and vice-rectors, which in article 26 provides that: “In the event that, for any reason If a rector ends his established term of rector without the process for the appointment of a new rector having been concluded, the Board of Regents may request that he remain temporarily in office until the new rector has been appointed ”.
Rector Guzmán assumed the position in 2011, and was ratified in 2014 and then in 2017, thus exhausting the maximum period allowed by institutional regulations. The selection process for a new rector is expected to conclude in December this year.
