INTEC extols seven prominent professionals


SANTO DOMINGO.- The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) will recognize the trajectory of seven outstanding professionals from different areas of knowledge during the ninth installment of the Outstanding Alumni Award 2015, which will be held next November's 5.

The trajectories of the hematologist-oncologist Wendy Cristhyna Gómez García and the gynecologist Eleazar Pedro Santana Valenzuela of the Health Sciences Area will be honored; the clinical psychologist Maricécili Mora Ramis of the Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities, and the administrator of companies with specialization in Production Management and vice minister in charge of Promotion of the PyMES of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ignacio Antonio Méndez Fernández, of the Engineering Area.

Likewise, they will be recognized as distinguished graduates of INTEC in the Business Area by the merchant Elsa Turull de Alma, executive vice president of Larimar Films; the economist and general administrator of the Reserve Bank, Enrique Antonio Ramírez Paniagua, and also the economist and president of the Dominican Association of the Electrical Industry (ADIE), Marcos Constantino Cochón Abud.

The winners of the Outstanding 2015 Award will be presented during an awards gala to be held next November at the Hotel El Embajador, in this Capital. 

INTEC initiated the delivery of the Outstanding Alumni Award in the 2007 year to recognize its graduates, graduate or postgraduate, whose professional performance and contributions in the business, socio-cultural, political, sports and / or academic fields demonstrate a path with impact social, and whose performance is a sign of attachment to the values ​​that the university advocates.

In eight installments, INTEC has recognized 54 of its graduates in the areas of Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Engineering and Business.

Some of the outstanding graduates of INTEC are Dr. Freddy A. Madera, engineer Sadalá Khoury, father Mario Serrano Marte, doctor Ricardo Espaillat, doctor Pavel Isa Contreras, graduate María Amalia León, graduate Danilo Medina Sánchez, graduate Jaime Aristy Escuder, doctor Liliam Fondeur and the economist Guarocuya Félix, among others.

The annual election of the winners is carried out by a rigorous evaluation and selection mechanism, composed of two stages: an open application process, in which members of the university community and legally established organizations propose those who consider themselves worthy of the award through the Institutional Communication Directorate. Then, the applications are confirmed and evaluated, after which they are submitted to electronic voting before the community of graduates.

In a second stage, a jury chaired by the Rector and composed of executives and personalities close to the university ponders the nominations and chooses those deserving of the award. The result of the vote of the community of graduates is added as a vote to the vote of the jury.
