INTEC and ISFODOSU sign agreement for academic exchanges
SANTO DOMINGO. -The Salomé Ureña Higher Teacher Training Institute (ISFODOSU) and the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) signed a cooperation agreement in which teachers and collaborators of both academies will have access to scholarships for master's degrees with 100% coverage.
The agreement signed by Nurys del Carmen González, rector of ISFODOSU, and Julio Sánchez Maríñez, rector of INTEC, will allow four INTEC teachers study the Master's Degree in E-Learning: new Technologies for learning through the Internet, taught by ISFODOSU together with the University of Seville; while one of ISFODOSU's collaborators will attend the Master of Data Sciences taught at INTEC.
During the signing of the agreement held in the Francisco Polanco room at the ISFODOSU headquarters, the rector of that academy stated that the relationship between both institutions dates back many years, through joint efforts to improve teacher training.
“The E-Learning master's program is going to allow us to train teachers in such a way that, after all this experience they have had in virtual work, they can now take advantage of it to formalize some of that learning, but, above all, applying a special didactics for virtual education and can develop more effective teaching-learning resources”, said González.
In addition, he specified that for ISFODOSU it is very important that one of its members participate in the INTEC Master's Degree in Data Science because it is essential to have data available for decision-making.
While the rector of INTEC, Julio Sánchez Maríñez, indicated that it is doubly pleasant for him to visit ISFODOSU, an institution of which he was rector.
"This agreement contemplates actions that give continuity to others that we have done and that we can carry out in the future," said Sánchez Maríñez.
The first beneficiaries of the agreement are the INTEC professors Ingrid González, Wilkerson Reyes and Manuel Peña, and Edison Rodríguez, research analyst for the ISFODOSU Vice President for Research and Postgraduate Studies.
On behalf of INTEC, Alliet Ortega, Vice-Rector for Administration and Finance, and Luisa Taveras, Dean of Academic Development, attended the signing of the agreement. Present for ISFODODSU were the Director of Postgraduate Studies, Angelquis Aquino; the director of Institutional Projection, Santa Jiménez; as well as the person in charge and the technician of Interinstitutional Relations, Génesis Oleaga and Katherine Montero.
About the master's degrees
La Master of Science in Data of INTEC is aimed at providing participants with knowledge to develop predictive models, explore, prepare and analyze data (structured, unstructured and Big data), visualize their patterns, articulate and interpret their findings to contribute to the intelligence of institutions .
The Master's Degree in E-Learning: New Technologies for Learning through the Internet is taught by ISFODOSU together with the University of Seville. Graduates of this program will have the skills to design content for the online modality; be technological advisers of educational centers; be tutors for the virtual training modality; be evaluators of content and online projects; as well as making effective use of technology in education.
