INTEC welcomes its new students to 821


Santo Domingo. Having as a priority in its 2012 strategy, the Student Body as a Center for Institutional Work, the Instituto Tecnológico de santo Domingo (INTEC) welcomed the more than 800 new students who enter in the August - October 2011 quarter. In the induction ceremony, the young people were able to meet and interact with the authorities, directors and teachers of the university, and also get involved in each of the Academic Areas that make up the institution. 

Miguel J. Escala, rector of INTEC, addressed the audience at the time of opening the opening remarks and expressed his pride in the institution's constant growth in innovation. "You start your careers with a new semi-flexible curriculum, which opens up options with more elective subjects," Escala told the students, who were accompanied by their parents or guardians.

During the event, recognition was given to the Kim Taveras and Sánchez Riveras families, both made up of graduated parents and student children from INTEC. 

Of the 821 new intecianos registered, 81 belong to the Intec Program with Outstanding Students (PIES) and two of them to the 2 + 2 INTEC-Penn-State Program.

The induction process was organized by the Evaluation and Retention Unit through the Directorate of Enrollment Management and the Division of Student Services (DSE). The welcoming ceremony also had the support of the Admissions, Promotion, Cocurricular, Scholarships and National Credits, Financial Assistance and International Students, Student Assistance and Student Mobility staff, who together with the departments of Registration, General Services, Virtual Intec, Public Relations and Library make up the Permanent Team of Degree Induction.
