INTEC celebrates final seminar of the Master's Degree in Educational Center Management with a focus on applied research
SANTO DOMINGO. El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), through the Area of Social Sciences and Humanities and in collaboration with the National Institute for Teacher Training and Development (INAFOCAM), held the seminar “Voices for Quality Educational Management: Contributions from Applied Research”, which concluded the Master's Degree in Educational Center Management (GCE).
The activity held at the Social Security Auditorium (OSES) was an academic meeting whose purpose was to socialize the main research findings developed by the master's students, promoting dialogue between educational practice and academic reflection on the current challenges of school management.
The day began with welcoming remarks by Irene Machado, Academic Coordinator of the Social Sciences and Humanities Area of INTEC, and Florangel Araujo, National Teaching Coordinator of the Continuing Education Department of INAFOCAM, who highlighted the importance of continuing education as an engine of educational transformation.
As a central part of the program, a keynote address was given by Brother Andrés Avelino Guerrero, who addressed the Management of educational centers as a transformative axis of educational quality, in which she highlighted the role of leadership in building more humane, inclusive and results-oriented educational communities.
The seminar was structured into five thematic panels that addressed key aspects of contemporary educational management: the first on Pedagogical leadership and teacher supportThe first session featured expert Fior Minyety, who explored teacher support as a strategy for continuous professional development; and the second focused on... Teaching, assessment and academic performance, led by Dr. Irene Machado, who highlighted feedback as a fundamental element in learning processes.
The third thematic panel focused on Educational Innovation and ICTThe first session, led by Nayelí Márquez, emphasized the pedagogical integration of technologies beyond their instrumental use; the fourth session focused on... School climate and factors associated with learningThe first, developed by Susy Gutiérrez, addressed the importance of coexistence and positive discipline in educational environments, and the fifth focused on Family and educational community, with the participation of Carmen Ortega, who highlighted the role of the family in the integral development of the student.
In each panel, the experts engaged in dialogue with the contributions of the master's students, who presented research aimed at improving the quality of education in various contexts, demonstrating the relevance of applied research as a tool for the transformation of educational centers.
Kenia Rosario, a master's student who gave the thank-you speech on behalf of the graduating class, stated that The master's degree "not only trained us... it transformed us," the graduate expressed, highlighting that the program taught them that "the management of educational centers is not about directing structures, but about supporting people, accompanying processes and believing in others even when they themselves doubt," she said.
The event culminated with closing remarks by Katherine Mejía, coordinator of the Master's program, who highlighted the effort, perseverance, and commitment of the participants, acknowledging the challenges faced throughout the training process. She also emphasized the impact these new professionals will have in their respective educational contexts.
The seminar represents not only the culmination of an academic stage, but also the beginning of a renewed commitment to the continuous improvement of education, training leaders capable of innovating, managing with a human touch, and transforming realities from their spheres of action.
