INTEC celebrates the PIES for the Future Meeting and launches the “Bee Part” Giving Day in support of new PIES scholarships


PIES graduates, along with strategic partners and representatives of the academic community, participated in an event where they reaffirmed their commitment to the future of education in the country.

SANTO DOMINGO. - Graduates of INTEC Program with Outstanding Students (FEET) of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo They were part of the meetingFEET for the Future”, an emotional event in which they strengthened their commitment to   the country's education, together with strategic allies and representatives of the academic community.

 The event, held at a restaurant in the capital, was organized by the Directorate of Development, Institutional Relations and Alumni (DDRIE), with the goal of strengthening the alumni community and their participation in initiatives that transform lives.

During the event, a solemn minute was observed as a sign of respect and gratitude in memory of Socrates Ramon Perez Minaya, the ideologue of the PIES Program, whose vision of justice and equity has guided this project that has impacted more than 3,100 young people throughout the country.

“What makes the PIES program unique is not just its numbers or its requirements, which are undoubtedly demanding, but its profoundly human character that recognizes each young person for their potential, not their origin. Here it doesn't matter if you come from a remote community or a school or college: if you have talent, commitment, and passion, INTEC opens its doors for you,” he said.

The program graduate encouraged everyone to give back through positive actions that contribute to the growth and development of future young talent. “In this new context, our mission as graduates takes on greater strength and urgency. It is no longer enough to have received the scholarship or obtained the degree. Now it is up to us to be mentors who guide, facilitators who open doors, collaborators who share their experience, and why not, sponsors who invest in young talent,” she said.

Rosario Arostegui, Vice-Rector of Research and Outreach at INTECShe offered some reflective words on the program's impact on Dominican society. "One of the reasons for holding this meeting is that there are many stories here in this room. We want to hear those stories, why? Because they are proof that investing in education is worthwhile," she commented.

Similarly, Juan Amell, PIES graduate y Director of Corporate Affairs at BEPENSAShe shared the importance of the program and the commitment that must be made to future generations. With gratitude, she told those present that “CWhen I think of PIES, what I think of is opportunity. I think that, a long time ago, someone thought of us when we wanted nothing more than to show great potential, and this initiative of a great academic institution gave us the opportunity, which also opened an internal door where we pursue merit and a great dream.”

Also present at the event was the interim rector, Alliet Ortega, who praised the impact of the PIES Scholarships and affirmed that investing in education is investing in the present and future.

“Bee Part” of the dream of a professional future in the country

Dayana Rodríguez, Fundraising Coordinator, announced the launch of the campaign Giving Day “Bee Part”, an event that seeks To mobilize the INTEC community, businesses, partners, and the general public to support the PIES Scholarship FundThe goal is to enable more outstanding young people from across the country to access a quality education. The event will take place on Friday, November 21, in the INTEC plaza.

Francina Hungría, president of the Alumni AssociationShe shared her enthusiasm for the PIES Program, which promotes talent development. She also gave a live demonstration on how to become a recurring donor.
