INTEC BETS PIONEER RACES IN THE COUNTRY
SANTO DOMINGO. During this year the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) proposes the opening of five undergraduate and eight graduate programs in pioneer areas in the country, meeting the demand of professionals that demand the productive sectors of the country.
This was revealed by the rector Rolando M. Guzmán, in pronouncing the central words of the fifty-second graduation ceremony of the INTEC in which the university delivered new graduate and postgraduate professionals to the 674 country. The rector added that within the new offer are added two doctoral programs, which have been submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, which will make INTEC the first Dominican university to offer its own doctorate in the field of sciences and technologies.
At the undergraduate level, INTEC will begin the careers of Cybersecurity Engineering, the Biotechnology Degree, the Bachelor of Commercial Engineering, the Bachelor of Cinema and Audiovisual Communication and the Bachelor of International Business, among others.
Similarly, at the postgraduate level, the rector announced that Master's degrees in Project Management, in Obesology and Dietetics, Clinical Nutriology, Cybersecurity Earthquake Resistance and Structural Engineering, Hydrology and in Human Talent Management have been initiated or will be initiated. Also a specialty in Actuarial Calculations, among other programs.
"This impressive renewal of our academic offer goes hand in hand with enormous efforts to guarantee quality," said Guzmán.
The rector stressed that the university is committed to quality and continuous improvement. As part of this effort, recently the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), an agency of international prestige, accredited eleven programs of the Business Area, four undergraduate and seven postgraduate.
Graduation ceremony
The order speech was in charge of the executive president of the Ramos Group, Mercedes Ramos Fernández, who called on the graduates to put their principles and values above all, and not negotiate them.
"We can not separate those principles and values that govern our personal life, our conduct and performance in the professional field. We constantly see how the laws are violated, frauds are committed, corruption grows around us. I tell them that you can prosper and be successful in respecting the laws, fulfilling the commitments we assume, being honest and always doing the right thing, "he said.
The graduate Sarah Patricia Oliva Carratalá, from the Business Administration career, was in charge of the swearing-in of the new professionals, while the young Alan Enrique Rodríguez Luciano, from the Industrial Engineering career, delivered the speech on behalf of the promotion.
Statistics
With this investiture, the university surpasses the 28,879 titles issued since its foundation in the 1972 year, corresponding to the 1,908 Technical levels; 16,705 and Postgraduate 10,266.
Of the new 674 graduates, 336 are women (49.9%) and 338 are men (50.1%). When observing the division of graduates by areas, 263 belong to the Engineering Area; 239 to the Business Area; 76 to the Area of Health Sciences; 86 to the Area of Social Sciences and Humanities and 10 to the Area of Basic and Environmental Sciences.
Most of the graduates belong to the level of degree (58.5%) while 41.5% belong to the graduate level.
Within the total of graduates, 115 obtained academic honors. Of these, 29 reached the title with honor Cum Laude; 54 Magna Cum Laude and 32 the highest honors of Summa Cum Laude.
Similarly, 29 graduates belong to the INTEC Program with Outstanding Students (PIES), 26 of which obtained academic honors: sixteen (16) Summa Cum Laude, eight (8) Magna Cum Laude and two (2) Cum Laude. Also seven (7) new graduates of the group PIES obtained the highest index of their respective careers.
