India will be the guest country in 2011 Intecnology
Santo Domingo. El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) carries out from November 23 to 25 the seventh edition of its technology fair, Intecnología 2011 with the Indian Republic as the guest country and the sponsorship of Orange Dominicana, Microsoft, ONAPI, Cemex, Sang Data Red, EPS, Claro, Viva, Wind Telecom and Cecomsa, among others.
For a week, lectures will be given on innovation, applications, and 15 will be exhibited projects created by students from the different academic areas of the university.
The prelude to the fair includes a movie film series such as Gandhi, Slumdog Millionaire and Indian Simphony, which will be screened from 7 to 23 in November at the García de la Concha Auditorium of INTEC.
The inauguration, scheduled for Wednesday 23 at nine o'clock in the morning, on the INTEC platform, will feature a panel headed by the Ambassador of the Republic of India in the country, His Excellency Deepak Bhojwani, who will speak on "India: looking its place from the South in the 21st Century "and the growing development of that nation. The event will be headed by the rector Rolando M. Guzmán with the president of the Dominican-Indian Chamber of Commerce, Ing. Eulogio Santaella and the economist Ramón Pérez Minaya.
Conferences and projects
Among the most outstanding events are the conference on Innovation applied to the Construction Industry of the president of Cemex, Carlos Emilio González, the E-Health Seminar organized by the Pan American Health Organization and the Virtual Health Library in the Dominican Republic (BVSRD), coordinated by INTEC.
Also Second Interuniversity Competition of Puentes de Palitos (November 23), where future civil engineers measure their capabilities and a "Android application restaurant". The latter will demonstrate live how a software engineer works, through the construction of mobile applications for this type of technology for Smartphones.
Among the prototypes to be exhibited are several furniture that solve problems to the tourism sector, as a device that allows to locate taxis and locate addresses or a cart to reduce the cleaning time of hotel rooms, which would speed up the delivery of rooms to tourists, part of the three proposals of the Design career Industrial.
Also a model of helicopter Remote control, partially built of materials recycled by students of different engineering.
This year will also present the progress of the first SAE Formula car made in the country, developed by students of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics and Medicine of INTEC. It is being built to compete in 2012 in the race organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
On the closing night, students and visitors will enjoy a surprise closing sponsored by the organizers.
The fair, which is held from 2005, is dedicated every year to a different country. In previous years the sponsorship has been to Italy (2007), United Kingdom (2008) and France (2010), whose ambassadors will be recognized at the opening ceremony.
