Third Diploma in Education of Young People and Adults is Inaugurated

SANTO DOMINGO. The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) through Center for Educational Studies (CEED-INTEC); the National Institute for Training and Training of Teachers (Inafocam) and the General Directorate of Education for Young People and Adults (EDPJA), opened the third version of the Diploma in Education for Young People and Adults, held in the Julio Ravelo Room of the INTEC Fountain.

The activity was attended by teachers from the San Cristobal, Puerto Plata and Santo Domingo Regionals; teachers and specialists of the CEED; representatives of the Direction of Young People and Adults of MINERD, as well as technical links between CEED-INTEC and Inafocam.

The general objective of the Diploma is to train teaching and management staff of the Basic Level of Education of Young People and Adults in the understanding and appropriation of a curricular approach suited to the needs and profile of the adult subject.

While its specific objectives are to know critically the definitions and agreements established by the international and national community in the Education of Young People and Adults, in order to identify their challenges and challenges. Also, reflect on the theories of learning and its application in the Dominican Curriculum.

In addition, it is proposed to assess the curricular offer of Education for Young People and Adults, and to encourage experiences of reflection and accompaniment that facilitate learning from practice, and aim at the formation of a critical leadership in the Youth Education Subsystem and Adults.

The Diploma will be taught in Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, San Juan de la Maguana, Barahona, Neiba and Azua. Its structure consists of six modules, for a total of 120 hours of face-to-face training.

The first module will address the topics "International and national references of the Education of Young People and Adults" and "Model of Education of Young People and Adults in the Dominican Republic". The second, "Theoretical approaches that fundamental the Dominican Curriculum and the learning of the young and adult people".

The participants will also deepen the theme "Curriculum of the Education of Young People and Adults" in the third module and in the fourth, "The Literacy of young people and adults: approaches and strategies". While the fifth module deals with "Curriculum of Flexible Basic Education of Young People and Adults" and the sixth, "Education for work and entrepreneurial culture".

This Diploma is coordinated by Migdalia Martínez, Dean of the Social Sciences and Humanities Department of INTEC and Miriam Camilo, General Director of Education for Young People and Adults of the Ministry of Education.
