Impart Seminar on Climate Change
"Costero-Marinas", with the participation of experts from the United States, Cuba, Spain, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
The seminar was attended by researchers, professionals from Environmental Sciences, university professors and students, local and municipal governments, Government and Non-Governmental Organizations, who shared experiences and knowledge about the coastal-marine issue.
The objective was to share tools for an adequate adaptation to climate change in coastal areas, through the exchange of knowledge and experiences of national and international experts.
In addition, encourage and motivate the spirit of research on the impacts of climate change and its environmental consequences, for the adoption of public policies and to raise awareness among the population.
With this exchange of experience, the Environment Ministry seeks to encourage the development of national capacities on measures to adapt to climate change in coastal areas.
The seminar lasted two days, where lectures and panels of experts were held, exposition of research results, and a visit to a coastal area of the country to exchange with a greater level of detail the shared strategies of adaptation to climate change .
