Grupo Ramos scholarship to three graduates of Fe y Alegría to study at INTEC

Santo Domingo. Grupo Ramos benefited this year three meritorious graduates of the Fe y Alegría schools with the full financing of their higher education in the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), as part of the agreement signed between these three institutions in the year 2006.

The fellows are Nathalie Yisset Almonte Pujols and Alexander Féliz Ogando, from the San José Educational Center, in Santo Domingo; and Marilyn Herrera Zorrilla, from the Santa Cruz de El Seibo Polytechnic, who will study the careers of Accounting, Industrial Engineering, and Civil Engineering, respectively.

The Grupo Ramos Scholarship Program, which has so far benefited thirteen high school graduates from the Fe y Alegría centers, is one of the social responsibility initiatives that the commercial company executes in partnership with several institutions, and that includes various actions in favor of education, as a way to contribute to the development and competitiveness of the country.

"We are very pleased to be part of this alliance with Fe y Alegría and INTEC, which has allowed access to a quality higher education to a group of students who might not have otherwise been able to continue their training, and obtain the necessary training to compete in a labor market that demands an increasingly qualified human capital, "said Mercedes Ramos, president of Grupo Ramos, during a meeting held with the scholars and representatives of the three entities.

Ramos expressed his satisfaction that this year, the scholarship program already has its first graduate, the young Laura Taína Pérez Rosario, professional accountant, "who is a source of pride for all and should serve as an example and inspiration, as a shows that when you want, you can ".

The national director of Fe y Alegría, Father Antonio Lluberes, thanked Grupo Ramos and expressed that this action becomes an encouragement for all, especially for the students, and a bonus for the management of Fe y Alegría. "We all feel that we are doing something worthwhile. People feel happy with us and we with our centers, managers, teachers and students, "he said.

Rolando Guzmán, rector of INTEC, also congratulated the beneficiaries and the Ramos Group for their contribution through their educational program and expressed that for the university it is an honor to maintain this alliance that in the last six years, has supported the development of the country through education in the classrooms, achieving a direct impact on the socioeconomic condition not only of these young people but of their families.

"Nathalie, Marilyn and Alexander, on behalf of INTEC, I offer you a deal: we promise you a good university education in exchange for study, dedication and effort. If they accept that challenge, and if they remember it every day as an inspiring force, I can assure you that this event is the gateway to a professional life full of achievements, "Guzmán emphasized when addressing the scholars.
