Giving Day Bee Part INTEC mobilized companies in support of the PIES Scholarship Fund
SANTO DOMINGO. - El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) celebrated its first Giving Day Bee Part, a day dedicated to raising funds for its INTEC with Outstanding Students (PIES) scholarship program, which focuses on supporting academically excellent young people who wish to pursue careers in STEM areas.
The activity successfully mobilized partner companies, graduates, students, and community members committed to high-impact higher education.
As part of the day, the first EATON – INTEC Business STEM Route was held, in which the EATON company announced a donation of $20,000 to strengthen the educational opportunities offered by the program.
This contribution was joined by Banco Popular Dominicano and the Dominican Card Consortium (CardNET), contributing to the development of young talent in the Dominican Republic.
The Giving Day Bee Party was also sponsored by One Origin, Microfundición FGLE, Allknit Sport, Lemon Creativo, Grabo Estilo, Definite, Nestlé, SIDOCA, Café Santo Domingo and Enriquillo, companies that made the activity and the dynamics carried out throughout the day possible.
During Giving Day, the Minister of Public Health, Víctor Atallah, a distinguished INTEC alumnus, emphasized the importance of encouraging frequent donations as a way to ensure the sustainability of the PIES Scholarship Fund and continue transforming lives through education. Members of the INTEC Alumni Association (ADE) also participated, adding their support to the institution's mission.
Meanwhile, Rosario Aróstegui, Vice-Rector of Research and Outreach at INTEC, thanked all the partners, students, alumni, and donors on behalf of the university for making this collective achievement possible. “Every contribution multiplies opportunities and opens doors for the future of Dominican youth,” she stated.
A key component of the event was the active participation of 11 student committees, who developed activities and competitions to encourage the highest number of registered donors. The winning committee was Marketing and Digital Business, for its outstanding management and performance throughout the day.
Thanks to the joint effort, the Giving Day Bee Part registered more than 20 new recurring donors and more than 25 one-time contributions, reflecting the growth of community support for the PIES scholarship program and the shared commitment to continue promoting educational opportunities for outstanding young people in the country.
