Francina Hungría assumes the presidency of the INTEC Alumni Association
ADE-INTEC represents the more than 35 professionals who have graduated from the university during its 53 years.
SANTO DOMINGO. — Francina Hungría, civil engineer and social activist, assumed the presidency of the Association of Graduates of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (ADE-INTEC) with the objectives of strengthening the alumni community, consolidating the organizational structure, and expanding the association's impact.
Hungary also took office as a new executive board composed of Dr. Manuel Emilio Colomé, Epidemiologist and Distinguished Graduate of INTEC in 2021, as vice president; the industrial engineer Gabriel Echavarría, who holds master's degrees and postgraduate degrees in Senior Management and Corporate Finance, as secretary; the mechanical engineer Alexander Vallejo Díaz, a three-time INTEC graduate, with a doctorate in Energy Management and a master's degree in Renewable Energy Technology, as treasurer.
Furthermore, Elisa Yamill Inoa Green, a graduate in Marketing with a double master's degree in Project Management from INTEC and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and a doctorate Joel Beltre, gynecologist-obstetrician and clinical nutritionist, teacher and researcher, as members.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Hungary presented the ADE strategic vision, based on three fundamental pillars: strengthening cohesion among graduates, with the goal of increasing the participation of INTEC's more than 35,000 professionals, regardless of their geographic location, so that every INTEC graduate feels part of the association's initiatives; and strengthening the organizational structure, empowering the program committees to actively coordinate and integrate graduates from their respective areas.
Additionally, create the ADE Allies Network (Red Doble A) to establish strategic alliances with business, professional, academic, and civil society organizations so that ADE has a significant voice in important discussions for the country.
Key projects for the INTEC community
In its inaugural address, Hungary announced projects to achieve the objectives set out among them “Connect INTEC”, a digital platform that will serve as an interconnection center for graduates; and ““Hive Mode Podcast”, a new digital space to disseminate the actions of graduates and express the positions of the ADE in public debate.
It will also be given monitoring and strengthening of the INTEC Entrepreneurship Network (REI), facilitating alliances so that graduates' businesses can grow.
The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Research and Outreach, Rosario Arostegui, and the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Arturo del Villar, who was responsible for reading the oath to the new members.
Since 1979, ADE-INTEC has been an autonomous association of professionals with a scientific and critical spirit, composed of all INTEC graduates, numbering more than 35,000. According to its bylaws, the board is elected for a two-year term, and its functions include promoting the strengthening of ties among alumni and their relationship with the university, and maintaining within its members the preservation of the ethical and moral values that underpin the philosophy of their alma mater.
