Talent Fair INTEC 2012 contributes to the creation of jobs

Santo Domingo.- El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, INTEC, inaugurated this Thursday, September 13, its fifth Talent Fair, a meeting space where graduates, professionals and interested parties can submit their resumes and interact with companies to learn about employment opportunities, professional development and the creation of new business.

As a novelty, the fair has a branch on the web. Those interested have the online platform "INTEC seeks you employment", through which www.intec.edu.do/egresados (Job offers) may upload your resume and see job offers in multiple areas; The companies, on the other hand, can visualize and segment the profiles of the candidates to select them.

Those interested can visit the campus until Friday, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, to submit their resumes and fill out job application forms at the stands of the 25 participating companies.

Rolando Guzmán, rector of INTEC, said that the creation of jobs and the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship are priorities of the National Development Strategy (NDT) and higher education institutions should sponsor it. "The Talent Fair is just one of the ways in which we contribute to the creation of jobs and the link between academia and business."

The main theme of the fair this year is 2.0 Recruitment, a growing trend of both recruitment and job placement that relies on the web and social networks.

Alberto Blanco, Consultant of People Approach and central speaker of the conference, explained that "companies have understood very well that social networks have become the main online activity in the world. So they have to be there where the talent is. "

For employers, the main benefits of 2.0 recruitment are that they can access a global bank of candidates, find talent anticipating the need, and be able to identify candidates related to their motivations and interests in a more effective way than through a resume.

More than 20 talks, exhibitions and workshops are scheduled as part of the activities during the two days of the fair. At the same time, projects with the potential to be patented or to contribute are exposed, as innovations to the improvement of business processes.

Some of the projects, presented by the Academic Areas and the Entrepreneurship Center, are: Automation of Fruit Packing System, Simulation of a paving car, Construction of container housing modules, CID (Digital Inventory Control), bricks and blocks ecological, robot assembler, Hexa Squad, TweetFood, a robotic hand, applications such as Bukiit and PingBlip, Enhanced INTEC, the Vehicular Multimedia System and Alfa Life.
