INTEC students will carry out internships at N DIGITAL institutions


SANTO DOMINGO. -The students of term of the race Social Communication and Digital Media of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) will be able do internships in the institutions and industries that make up N Digital, to put into practice their knowledge and complement their academic training.

This is established by the signed collaboration agreement by the rector of INTEC, Rolando M. Guzmán, and Nuria Piera, president of N Digital, which indicates that the agreement will last for two years, and will be automatically extended for annual periods.

Guzmán said the collaboration agreement represents the bonding opportunity with an entity of great relevance and a situation for strengthen the training program for the New Generation de communicators for Dominican Republic.

"It is a new contribution to the training of professionals with a vocation for the future, and with the career of Social Communication and Digital Media we see ourselves as pioneers with the obligation to contribute, even, to others following the same path," said the rector of INTEC .

While, Piera, stressed that the INTEC has taken a step towards go ahead and has put in a leading position in digital journalism. "Now we see that we need many journalists with digital awareness, agility and speed, and only with a career in which the chip that things changed is implemented, then it is possible to move forward," said the renowned researcher.

“For us it is a pride to participate in this important race that we must support everyone and rescue pure, traditional journalism. We hope to collaborate and be nutritious for both parties, ”said the veteran journalist.

The agreement states that this formative complement will imply that students apply directly the knowledge of their skills in the different areas of activity, the development of skills necessary for future professional management and the acquisition of computer and technical tools.

Students will work a maximum of 22 weekly hours, distributed to the best convenience of the parties, so that this practice does not affect their curriculum, with a minimum period of three months, and can be renewed for additional quarterly periods up to a period maximum of one year.

On your side, Rosa Alcantara, career coordinator for Social Communication and Digital Media, said the INTEC has as transversal axes research, innovation and the development of digital skills, and given that N Digital works on these items, the academy was interested in having its students join the team and thus develop these skills.

As long as Wilfredo Álvarez Piera, general manager of NDigital Multimedia, said that for both Nuria research program and N Digital project the signing of the agreement is pleasing, since the digital journalism is a unique career and represents a need.

The ceremony was also attended by Victor Hernández, acting dean of the Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities; Ailín Lockward, Director of Institutional Relations, and Adolfo Julián, in charge of the University's Internship Unit.
