INTEC student obtains first place in CEMEX competition
SANTO DOMINGO.- The industrial design term student of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Leticia García Robles, won first place in the competition organized by the company CEMEX, to choose the design of the contest statue CEMEX Dominican Republic Works Award.
García Robles was crowned in the first place by participating in the open call made by CEMEX Dominicana to the design and engineering students of the main universities of the country, and which is aimed at encouraging their creativity. The young woman was presented at an awards gala, which was held on Wednesday 7 in August at the Hotel Jaragua, and attended by the rector of INTEC, Rolando M. Guzmán.
The design of García Robles was used as an award for the ninth version of the CEMEX Dominican Republic Works competition, which is aimed at encouraging the creative work of professionals in the construction industry and, in turn, recognizing the best works of art. contemporary architecture and engineering.
CEMEX Works Award was held for the first time in the 1991 year in Mexico and the first edition in the country was held in the 2005 year, in order to encourage professionals to create sustainable concrete and cement spaces, through the use of materials of first order.
