Institutional Strategy INTEC is a model in an international colloquium


SANTO DOMINGO.- The Interamerican University Organization (OUI) chose the follow-up system of the Institutional Strategy INTEC 2013-2017 to be presented during the XIV International University Management Colloquium, recently held in Florianópolis, Brazil.

A commission integrated by the past rector of INTEC and executive director of the Institute of Management and University Leadership (IGLU), Miguel Escala; the professor of the Business Area, Franklin Vásquez, and the director of the INTEC Planning Office, José Feliz, represented the academy.

In conjunction with the experience of INTEC, the follow-up model to comply with the strategy of the Universidad do Sul of Santa Catarina (UNISUL) was presented. Both entities were selected by the OUI after fulfilling a series of requirements, including:

They are members of the IGLU

They use computer applications to support their monitoring processes

They have been able to render accounts of achievements to the instances that require it

Both INTEC and UNISUL have introduced methodologies for the conformation and monitoring of the management of strategic portfolios, programs and projects considered to be cutting-edge (Balance Score Card or Integral Scorecard, a methodology of the Project Management Institute PMI).

Participation

During the conclave, which was organized by the Institute of Research and Studies in University Administration (INPEAU), Vásquez introduced and moderated the Management and Accompaniment panel of the Institutional Strategy, while Escala presented the lessons of the IGLU on strategic management.

Féliz was in charge of presenting INTEC's experience in monitoring compliance with the Institutional Strategy, in a paper that attracted great interest among the 400 university managers, university management experts and postgraduate students who attended the colloquium. from Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia and Panama, among other countries in the region.
