Leading companies participate in the INTEC 2010 Talent Fair


Santo Domingo.- El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) inaugurated the fourth version of its Talent Fair, an event that allows graduates and professionals to apply for employment and development opportunities both in the business sector and in the world of entrepreneurship and academic specializations in foreign universities.

More than 30 companies, including educational entities, chambers of commerce, foundations and embassies, present from Thursday 25 until Saturday 27 their vacancies, scholarships and support plans for postgraduate studies abroad. 
During these three days attendees can apply to positions within entities such as Orange Dominicana (main sponsor), Alcatel-Lucent, Viva, Tricom, Microsoft, Ambev Dominicana, Cemex, PIISA, Scotiabank, Bepensa (Coca-Cola), Grupo Popular, AES Dominicana, Colgate Palmolive, STREAM, Yellow Pages and Eaton Corporation, among others. 
Those interested in starting their own businesses will have a special space with the realization of the "Second Seminar for Inter-American Entrepreneurs", a focus on the topic Crucial steps to formalize the new company, and a panel of prominent women entrepreneurs, both under the responsibility of representatives of entities noted for their support of national entrepreneurship.

Similarly, and in response to one of the main obstacles to postgraduate studies is financing, the INTEC 2010 Talent Fair offers this year the participation of entities with scholarship and facilities plans to finance study programs, among them the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MECyT), the Franklin Center of the United States Embassy, ​​the APEC Foundation for Educational Credit (Fundapec), the Russian embassies, Cuba and Israel and the platform for internships and professional internships International Association of Students of the Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC).

They will also offer talks such as "Masters abroad: Paradise or hell?", "How to make a career in international organizations?" And "Study medicine in the US and Europe."
Miguel J. Escala, Rector of INTEC stressed that "The fair has been maturing and adapting itself increasingly better to the needs of companies, graduates and professionals in general. For this reason, we hope that the group of organizations that accompany us today will be the pioneers in forming a network that will feed on our talents with the full support of the INTEC Development and Graduate Office for a work of head hunting¨  

Escala also reported that in this version of the Talent Fair, INTEC relaunches the campaign ¨A brick for the Colmena¨, project Through which anyone who feels a commitment to this academic institution can leave a physical record by donating a brick, a footprint in the infrastructure of the university. 
The opening of the 2010 version of the INTEC Talent Fair was also attended by Jean Marc Escalettes, vice president of Human Resources, Legal and Audit of Orange Dominicana, as well as Julio Sánchez Maríñez, vice-rector for research and links at INTEC, Iván Mancebo, vice-rector for administration and finance and Leandra Tapia, academic vice-rector.  

Prior to the inauguration, the "Prepare to find employment" workshop was held, where the term students learned the tools to enter the labor market. It was presented by Felix Chamorro, CEMEX's Human Resources director for the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.
