Outstanding 2013 graduates share traditional breakfast
SANTO DOMINGO. The seven winners of the 2013 Outstanding Graduate Award were invited by the rector of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Dr. Rolando M. Guzmán, to share the traditional breakfast prior to the awards ceremony to be held this Wednesday, November 27 at 7: 00 at night.
The winners of this year are the doctors Andrés Rodríguez Céspedes y Luis Alfredo Betances Pimentel of the Health Sciences Area; César Ernesto Castellanos Araujo, Area of Social Sciences and Humanities; engineers José Ezequiel Díaz y Milton Morrison, of the Engineering Area; doctor Federico Cuello and the lawyer Luis Reyes Santos of the Business Area.
The breakfast was held in the Hall of the Rectory and in addition to the rector participated the president of the Association of Graduates (ADE-INTEC), Julio Molina; the Director of Institutional Communication, Adriana del Conte and the one in charge of Relations with Graduates, Tania García. Engineer Diaz and Dr. Cuello sent their representatives to be out of the country.
During the after-dinner, Dr. Guzmán highlighted the importance for INTEC to maintain close relationships with its graduates, whom he valued as the main product of the academy.
The president of the ADE-INTEC was also expressed on the same terms, who spoke about the importance of maintaining links with the graduates of the university, and the ways in which they can return part of their training to society through active participation.
The graduates shared anecdotes and experiences of their years in the classrooms, emphasizing the rigor in all the academic activities. They agreed that this rigor has left them great benefit in their professional practice.
The purpose of the breakfast prior to the award ceremony of the Outstanding Alumni Award is to provoke an opportunity for the honorees to share prior to the ceremony and to open channels of contact with the university and the Office of Relations with Graduates.
INTEC initiated the delivery of the Outstanding Alumni Award in the 2007 year to recognize its graduate or undergraduate students whose professional performance and contributions in the business, socio-cultural, political, sports and / or academic fields demonstrate a path with social impact evident, and whose performance is a sample of attachment to the values advocated by the university.
The delivery ceremony corresponding to the 2013 year will be held this Wednesday 27 at the 7: 00 PM at the Garden Tent of the El Embajador hotel.
