Teachers complete a master's degree in Educational Evaluation at INTEC


HOLY SUNDAY- El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the National Institute for Teacher Training and Education (Inafocam) celebrated the Final Seminar of the Master's Degree in Educational Evaluation, postgraduate aimed at its second cohort of 110 members, who perform the functions of directors of educational centers, coordinators, and teachers in service of the country's public education system.

"Perspectives for teaching practice and institutional management" was the title of the activity carried out in person at the Social Security Auditorium (OSES) and with virtual transmission via Zoom, in which 14 of the students presented the results of the research processes carried out during their training.

The six-term master's degree was addressed to 110 participants from the Metropolitan area, and the southern area that includes the provinces of Independencia, Bahoruco, Azua, San Juan, Barahona and Elías Piña.

For the development of their projects, the next graduates of the postgraduate course had the support of teachers and companions, who followed up on their work through pedagogical support in the development of teaching, and the process of tutoring and advising on the work of investigation. 

"Some of these students had the opportunity to present their final master's degree projects where the evaluation journey was reflected in three areas of evaluation, namely, learning evaluation, evaluation of educational centers, and evaluation of the professional practice of teachers”, explained Dr. Irene Machado, level coordinator of the Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities.

During the event, representatives of the various instances responsible for this master's degree were also present. On behalf of Inafocam, the person in charge of the Postgraduate Department, Susana Doñé, attended. Representing INTEC was Dalul Ordehi, dean of the Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities, the Academic Coordination team made up of Katherine Mejía and José Ramón Suriel; Ubaldina Medina, coordinator of the Pedagogical Accompaniment, among other teachers, pedagogical companions and guests.

“The activity was highly valued, receiving good comments from teachers, fellows, and guests. The knowledge acquired by the students during the development of the Master's Degree in Educational Evaluation was evidenced," argued Machado after evaluating the results of the students during the day of the event.
