INTEC professor selected as Honorary Professor at University College London
Santiago Gallur, a professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, will collaborate with the review of the doctoral thesis of one of the UCL students.
SANTO DOMINGO. - El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) celebrates the recent appointment of Professor Santiago Gallur, professor of the Area of Social Sciences and Humanities, as Honorary Professor of the Department of Risk and Disaster Reduction of the University College London (UCL), one of the ten best universities in the world, according to the most recent QS World University Rankings 2026.
The honorary appointment will be valid for three years, from June 2025 to October 2027, and may be extended. This recognition was granted by the UCL with the aim of having the INTEC professor support him in developing a doctoral thesis from one of his students, an international academic collaboration.
In addition to his teaching role, Santiago Gallur is coordinator of doctorates en Communication and Education in Virtual Environments, And in social Sciences of INTEC.
"Although other students from European universities have requested collaboration in similar processes in the past, this is the first time that a formal relationship like this has been established, in which we are recognized as academic peers in such a high-level process," said the professor upon receiving the official appointment contract.

Gallur is PhD in Contemporary and Latin American History, and PhD in Communication, both obtained at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. In addition to coordinating two doctoral programs, he teaches as a full professor in the following programs: Social Communication and Digital Media, Social Sciences oriented to Education, as well as in various specialties and master's degrees related to the education. and researchIt is also currently implementing a Diploma in Publishing Articles in High-Impact Journals in the Ibero-American Context, aimed at teachers.
