Ten days of training on the seventh art


SANTO DOMINGO. - More of 80 children, girls y teenagers offspring of the collaborators of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), with ages between 7 y 15 years, they put their imagination y creativity durante a camp-workshop in which they learned from cinema.

The activity was planned by the People Management Department and organized by the producer, teacher and coordinator of the degree program Cinema and Audiovisual Communication of the University, María Soledad López, together with the audiovisual production company Nathalia Lafuente, the organizational support of Jenny Abreu and logistics de SBS GLOBAL SRL.

Aides students and a top quality team, represented by the best exponents of the Dominican cinema, they shared with the participants the knowledge of the de tell stories with images y in a playful way.

For two weeks the boys, girls and young people who participated in this important initiative learned from the different steps y trades of the cinema from the hand of talented and renowned filmmakers. In the script part they were Johanne Gomez Terrero, Alejandro Andújar, Cristian Mojica y Alejandro Normad; in production, Carol Herrera, María Soledad López, Nathalia The source y Mayra Poueriet; in direction of photography and camera: Leo Perez, Francis adamez, Domini Alcantara e Ivel Cenac; in the direction: Leticia Rojas y Yoel Morales; in sound: Denis Godoy y Alain Muniz; casting and acting direction: Robelitza Perez, Margareth Tapia, Karina Valdez, Ysabel Spencer y Ramon Emilio Candelario; in edit: Ramon Alfonso, Rony Roach y Milton Sanchez.

The children and young people went through all the areas of the cinema and in the end divided into five groups they wrote their own scripts, they planned their shootings, they filmed their stories and they starred to then participate in the process edition and finally present them to the public, at INTEC's García de la Concha Auditorium.

The five short films showed the creativity and ability of the little ones to tell stories and revealed the interests and the imaginary that surrounds each age of life, the little ones with stories full of imagination and magic and the youngest with stories that touch their daily problem like bullying and identity.

Young people also had the opportunity to see first-hand the professional working a study de animation y post production of image and sound with the guided tour of the Lone coconut FX Studios y Octopus Post.

"Undoubtedly, this great experience has been sown in each participant, arousing the concern to continue deepening in a profession that is increasingly gaining strength in the country," emphasized María Soledad López, coordinator of the INTEC Film and Audiovisual Communication career.
