New coordinator of the Center for Gender Studies appointed


SANTO DOMINGO.- The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) appointed as new coordinator of the Center for Gender Studies (CEG) to the doctor Desiree Del Rosario Sosa, educator, graduate normal teacher from the primary sector in 1984; dLecturer in Law graduated from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and graduated from the second round of the Master in Gender from INTEC.

Rosario Sosa replaces the economist Fatima Lorenzo in office. The current coordinator of the CEG has a postgraduate degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences and the UASD and studies on Women's Human Rights at the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIHR), Grupo Manuela Ramos from Peru and INTEC.

For 15 years, Del Rosario has been a full professor in the Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities, and as coordinator of the master's degree in Gender and Equality Policies in Education.

In her role as a researcher, she has participated as part of interdisciplinary research teams on violence, migration and legislation with a gender perspective. In addition, she is an advisor to the Gender Equity Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, and a national and international consultant for various projects.

About the CEG-INTEC

El Center for Gender Studies INTEC is dedicated to higher education, research projects. and incidence on public policies from gender perspective. Its objective is to study gender inequality from a formal academic space, define analytical perspectives and contribute to policies that overcome inequalities.

From the production of knowledge, the CEG-INTEC seeks to promote cultural, political and social transformations, contributing to the consolidation of a national mobilization gender agenda, and to the development of leaderships committed to reducing hierarchies based on gender.
