"Let your children fail and get up alone"

SANTO DOMINGO. The Parents they can assure that they have raised well to your children when they show moral values e independence, so the psychologist considered it Jorge Morillo, guest speaker in the meeting with Parents, purlins y tutors of the new intecianos who will begin teaching in the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) in the November-January quarter.

"You should let your children lose, win, fail and get up on their own, because the worst thing about a person is dependence, because when you see yourself in a critical situation you always need someone to get out of that difficulty," he exhorted. parents, while talking about the transition from college to university.

He explained that those parents who raise on the basis of overprotection, they form men and women who do not know what to do in the moment that is missing dad or mom. He indicated that many people, after having their children, become single parents and stop being partners, "then when they leave the nest, the divorce could come because there is nothing in common that makes them stay together," he said.

During the talk, many parents nodded and others raised their faces in amazement. Despite the reactions, Morillo stressed that in the university young people have to be left to take on the challenges of their subjects, that they wake up doing a practice and that they solve their problems with their teachers. He concluded that a successful person has constancy and autonomy.
