Successful third meeting of Twitter users in the Dominican Republic

In order to spread knowledge to a general public about social media, on Sunday April 18 at the García de la Concha Auditorium at Intec, TwittDO was successfully held in its third edition. Since 2007, TwittDO has been organized as a space for sharing among those who use Twitter as a communication environment.

In this edition, not only the coexistence of the users among themselves was sought, but the sharing of knowledge between different levels of people, which have benefited from this tool at the political, marketing, advertising, communication and, why not, personal level .

The third version featured a series of conferences and work sessions as well as presentations by international personalities such as Ricardo Guerrero, a Colombian entrepreneur who was speaking about the use of Twitter in business and creator of the @DellOutlet account, which generated the manufacturer of Dell computers, more than USD $ 6,5 million in sales during 2009. Norberto Gobbi from Argentina was also present, who spoke with the twitter users about audience measurement on social networks.

The Dominican companies had their space, presenting their experiences and strategies of how they used Twitter as an internal communication platform, as well as to address their fans or customers abroad. Representatives of brands such as Tricom, Yokomo, Diario Libre and Aeropaq expressed the importance of social networks in their businesses. Likewise, Yaqui Núñez Jr., from GCS Systems, spoke about the possibilities and challenges that the Dominican Republic has to carry out trade through cell phones and smart mobile equipment.

The objective of TwittDO was to highlight Dominican Twitter users in the rest of Latin America. The third edition sought to share knowledge between different sectors of society, which have benefited from this Internet tool at a personal, political, business, advertising and communicational level. This year the event was sponsored by Tricom, 4CC Comunication Consulting, Comunique, Coca-Cola, GCS Systems, among other brands. For more information on this third meeting, visit www.twitt.do
