SANTO DOMINGO.- With the theme Skills for the Internet of everything (“Internet of everything”), some 50 instructors and representatives of the CISCO Academies of the Caribbean met at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) during the CISCO Academy Day Caribe 2016.
The annual event organized by CISCO, in coordination with INTEC as the venue this year, is the main update meeting that brings together instructors from the Caribbean Networking Academy Program, NETACAD of CISCO.
Participants had the opportunity to update themselves on technical, curricular, operational and management issues, as well as exchange experiences and best practices and recognize the outstanding members of the program community. The conferences were given by Marisol Ibarra, Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility of Central America and the Caribbean, CISCO Systems, and José Pablo Esquivel, Technical Manager of Latin America and the Caribbean of CISCO Systems.
In the Dominican Republic there are more than 15 CISCO academies among universities, centers and institutes. INTEC is one of the regional support centers for the Caribbean.
The CISCO academies have allowed technical knowledge to be shared among tens of thousands of people who have trained in the region.
In the event, which was held in the Julio Ravelo de la Fuente Room, Rolando Guzmán, rector of INTEC, was present; Arturo Del Villar, dean of the Engineering Area; Erick Barinas, coordinator of the Systems Engineering career of INTEC and Wanda Pérez, coordinator of the INTEC Network Academy.
The NETACAD program offers students the opportunity to develop a curriculum that allows them to build a career in the field of Information Technology (IT). It also offers learning platform, support and training to the centers.
The INTEC Network Academy offers training in the different NETACAD programs, as part of its academic offer of Continuing Education.
