Centro INTEC de Bioética presents a new diploma


SANTO DOMINGO. The INTEC Center of Bioethics, attached to the Health Sciences Area of ​​the university, presented yesterday its new program of diploma for Clinical Bioethics Consultants (CBC), a specialist in Bioethics that assumes attributions to clinical cases that present dilemmas of moral uncertainty in the technical management of some pathologies.

In explaining the new program, its coordinator Dr. Miguel Suazo, explained that the fundamental role of this new specialist is to intervene in response to the call of health personnel, patients or their families who consider that the clinical approach or the relationship between them involve related decisions to the world of values ​​of those affected.

Suazo exposed when presiding over the first meeting of graduates of the Master's in Bioethics of the university, which in its 15 years exceeds a hundred graduates and which is only offered in the country by INTEC. 

In his words, Dr. Suazo pointed out that the CBC has an 100 theoretical-practical hours program and that it is aimed at graduates of the Master's in Bioethics. The CBCs will offer their services in the health sector, both public and private, and it is assumed as an interconsultation that can be answered immediately, in an agile and professional manner during the 24 hours of each day of the week.
