They celebrate Twentieth Symposium of Industrial Engineering


SANTO DOMINGO. With the attendance of hundreds of students and professionals, the twentieth Industrial Engineering Symposium was inaugurated this year. "Value generation: strategies and methods focused on innovation in the management of the value chain ".

The program of the activity includes five days of lectures, workshops and visits to companies recognized for their good practices, and involved interested in engineering issues from different areas of study, organizations and universities.

The Symposium is organized by the Industrial Engineering Students Committee (CEII-INTEC), a non-profit organization formed in the 1991 year by students of the area, with the aim of creating a link with the INTEC authorities and contributing to the update of engineering professionals.

During the technical visits, the participants of the Symposium had the opportunity to learn about the good practices of Barrick Pueblo Viejo, Cemento Panam, Convatec, Ethical, DP World Caucedo, Zebu Jeans, Frito Lay Dominicana, Timberland and Rockwell Automation. During this weekend, they move to a hotel in Punta Cana to continue the program of activities, which concludes this November 17 Sunday.

The first Industrial Engineering Symposium was held in the Julio Ravelo Room of the INTEC Library Fountain in the 1993 year, and since then the activity has become an annual meeting of students and professionals, with the aim of updating their knowledge and learn from the good practices of different business models.

The inauguration ceremony, which took place in the Julio Ravelo de la Fuente Room, was headed by the professors of the Luis Toirac Engineering Area, Omar Apunte and David Cortés, as well as by Marlene Hernández, president of the CEII-INTEC.

The directive of the CEII-INTEC is also integrated by Stephanie Galarza, vice president; Nohely Fabián, spokesperson; Danielle Pichardo, in charge of Advertising and Marketing; Laura González, in charge of Student Mobility; Ysabelle Antuña, in charge of Public Relations and Sponsorship and Amelia González, in charge of Logistics.

Also Abraham Martínez, in charge of Social Networks and media; Fior Santos, in charge of Academic Management; María Stella Bautista, secretary; Luisa Pichardo, assistant treasurer and Nathalie Duarte, treasurer.
