Scholarships for the Presidency start their career at INTEC

The outstanding 32 bachilleres represent each of the provinces of the country

SANTO DOMINGO. The first group of 32 outstanding students awarded in the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) for the INTEC Presidential Scholarship Program, which is sponsored by the Presidency of the Republic, began its first academic quarter on Monday, August 5.

The young people, who represent each one of the provinces of the country, were selected based on their academic trajectory in the middle level and the qualification obtained in an academic aptitude test. The candidates were presented by educational centers of the public sector throughout the country and the regional ones of the Ministry of Education.

In addition to full tuition, the INTEC Presidential Scholarships include the delivery of a monthly maintenance, which will cover the cost of food, accommodation, transportation, supplies and educational materials.

Before starting teaching, students participated in an induction day in which they toured the academic campus and selected the subjects of their first semester, under the guidance of the Division of Student Services.

Bachelors will study in INTEC the careers of mathematics, medicine, marketing, accounting, industrial engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, psychology and business administration.

The President of the Republic, Danilo Medina, announced the Presidential Scholarships when last April visited INTEC, to support the donation program "Pásala por mí" in his condition as a graduate of that house of studies.
