Banco del Progreso and INTEC will create concentrations in banking for careers


Santo Domingo.- The Bank of Progress and the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, INTEC, will form a space for permanent discussion on the banking sector of the country, through the organization of training activities, while agreeing to promote the creation and promotion of a concentration in Banking as part of INTEC's academic offer.

This is determined by an agreement signed by both entities in which they agree to join forces and resources, within the scope of their respective competences to carry out the organization and development of academic, teaching, research, training, culture dissemination and extension of services.
The agreement was signed by Mark Silverman, Executive President of Progress and Rolando Guzmán, Rector of INTEC.

"This is a great opportunity for us at Banco del Progreso. Forming this permanent discussion space on a task as important as the banking service in the Dominican Republic, represents a contribution of great significance for the development of human resources in the banking area, "said Mr. Silverman.

For his part, the Rector of INTEC described this agreement as an opportunity for the students of the academy and the formation of the youth of the country, since the knowledge and experience of banking executives are combined with the scientific work of the university.

Both Silverman and Guzmán stressed that they will create a concentration in Banking for students of Administration and Marketing at INTEC. They announced that in the creation of the same will participate technicians and executives of the bank, companies of the sector in coordination with professors of the academy.

They also agreed that they will establish specific agreements to define the participation of the bank in the program of Students in Professional Internships-Honors Internships.

Both entities will promote the enrichment of the current master's programs related to subjects in which the bank could participate, through the advice of at least one invited professor by Banco del Progreso, who will teach in each program. Teachers must have the ability to give guidelines to students about professional practice in other countries in the region.

Banco del Progreso and INTEC share the desire to collaborate together by encouraging and facilitating actions of an educational nature, aimed at promoting the continuous improvement of the quality of life of our society and the sustained development of the country.

Present at the event were Yolanda Hernández, Vice President of Human Resources of the Bank, María Isabel Grullón, Vice President of Communication and Corporate Affairs, Alfonso Casasnovas, Administrative and Financial Vice-Chancellor of INTEC, Patricia Portela, Executive Director of Development and Institutional Relations, Ailín Lockward, Executive Director of Service Delivery and Adriana Del Conte, Director of Institutional Communications.
