Announce the celebration of the ILALE 2011 Congress
Santo Domingo.- With the aim of analyzing the different opportunities to strengthen the quality of education as a primary support to reduce social differences, the 8vo will be held.
Congress of the Latin American Institute of Educational Leadership - ILALE2011, on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 of June in the Anacaona halls of the Hotel Jaragua.
The event, which has the support of Nova Southeastern University of Miami, has been coordinated by prestigious local institutions linked to national educational activities such as the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Universidad Católica Tecnológica del Cibao (UCATECI), Dominican-American University (UNICDA), Higher Institute for Teacher Training Salomé Ureña (ISFODOSU), Universidad Católica del Este (UCADE), Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE), Universidad Católica Nordestana (UCNE) and Action for Education (EDUCA).
The Congress will have the presence of national and international experts, who will address relevant aspects related to the need for quality education to close social gaps.
The first keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Jeffrey Puryear, representative of the Program for the Promotion of Educational Reform in Latin America and the Caribbean (PREAL), who will address the theme "The Teaching Challenge. The Road to effective teachers ".
Next, the theme of "Quality of education: A look at the essential factors that impact sustainable development and social equity" will be addressed by Dr. Alfredo Edmundo Astorga Bastidas, Chilean historian, who is also a sociologist, pedagogue and, specialist in administration, planning and financing of education of the Regional Office of Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC / UNESCO) in Santiago de Chile.
The program of that first day of the event is completed by two evening panels, one on "Communities of learning" and the other on "Good practices of learning", in order to present novel experiences on learning communities in countries of the region. . That day concludes with a keynote address by Dr. Roberto Liz on "Investment and effective management".
The agenda of the second day will feature a keynote on the "Measurement of Learning" by Dr. John C. Ickis, Representative of INCAE before SACS and AACS, a second keynote address on the "Institutional Environment and Technology at the Service of the quality "dictated by Lic. Lianna Polanco, Academic Vice-Rector of the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLAS) and to end a keynote address by the outstanding economist Isidoro Santana on" Investment in the education sector ".
In its eighth version, the ILALE Congress will offer the educational community the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the different initiatives to be implemented in order to promote the closing of social gaps to achieve a more just society. Since its inception, this Congress has had the support of the entire national educational community and authorities from the main national and international universities have had a presence in it.
Purposes of the ILALE 2011 Congress:
1) Promote exchanges between teachers and researchers at different levels of education, in order to debate proposals to face the challenge of quality and open paths for social equity and the well-being of people.
2) Discuss the critical factors that account for quality in institutions and educational systems.
3) Present experiences of improvement of educational quality in different training contexts: basic, intermediate, technical-professional and university as a means to close social gaps.
4) Knowing policies of educational quality that have been translated into concrete plans and projects for the strengthening of education.
About ILALE:
The Latin American Institute of Educational Leadership (ILALE) of Nova Southeastern University of Miami, Florida was born with the purpose of creating a space for dialogue about essential issues in current Latin American education.
It is with this objective that annually organizes a congress that brings together prominent professionals from different countries to discuss current educational issues and exchange their experiences about the future of education at all levels.
