Engineering accreditation guarantees quality in professionals
Santo Domingo.- "Having engineering accreditation models guarantees the capacity of the professional in the area and the quality of the construction work", Jaime Salazar Contreras, executive secretary of the Ibero-American Association of Engineering Education Institutions (ASIBEI), said during the First Central American and Caribbean Congress on Engineering Education held at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
The congress coincided with the opening of the technological fair "Intecnología 2010", the party of technology and culture of INTEC that this year is dedicated to France as a guest country and exhibits 25 prototypes of projects manufactured by students and teachers.
The congress was divided into two phases. During the first two lectures on quality and its relationship with ethical factors, social or moral risk, peer training, among others. The second presented a workshop with the experiences of accreditation in Central America, ABET case of the Universidad del Norte de Barranquilla and the accrediting company GCREAS, among others.
