Abinader ensures opposition union is essential to defend free elections
SANTO DOMINGO. -The Presidential candidate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Luis Abinader, assured that major changes and transformations are achieved with a major unit, and for the country the opposition unit for defend free elections No matter where it comes from.
During a conversation with students, professors and other members of the academic community of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), as well as representatives of the main sectors of society, Abinader stressed that “the diversity of minimum agreements is necessary before a (current) government that has no limit of any nature. I think it is necessary to have maximum agreements that are those of the Government, but minimum agreements to defend democracy, ”he said.
Abinader said that, if he wins the next presidential elections, will improve in terms of institutionality the control of public resources and will also achieve a independent justice, to ensure sustainable economic and social development.
He stressed that he is committed to independent the Public Ministry, the Chamber of Accounts, the Central Electoral Board (JCE), the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and the strengthening of the Comptroller General of the Republic. In addition, he said that he would modify the Constitution to shield it and that no one can modify it more and, this would be through a great consensus with the whole society.
When questioned about the investment of the budget allocated to education, Abinader said that the fundamental thing is the training and re-education of teachers, since currently the Ministry of Education allocates less than 10% for teacher training.
"The teachers are the ones who will transform our education. In the country there is no extended run, there is extended schedule, because the extended run is if class is given after lunch and classes are not being taught here. The priority is the re-education and retraining of teachers, ”he said.
