39 years of academic excellence

With the participation of collaborators, students, teachers and authorities, the effort of the founders, a group of young professionals committed to Dominican society, who 9 of October of the year 1972 opened the doors of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo - INTEC.

Today, 39 years later, INTEC has graduated 23,193 professionals and remains a firm university in the purpose of contributing to the social transformation of the country through the training of academically excellent professionals, with clear values ​​of justice, freedom, moral, social sense and cultural interest.

In his words, the rector said that for the Inter-American this event is also an invitation to look at the present. "The present moment finds us with the same ideals of 39 years ago. The claim to excellence continues to be our distinctive feature; the commitment to building a better country continues to generate the same emotions in us; and the sense of belonging of the members of this hive is equal to or greater than in any other institution in our environment ".

The ceremony began with the traditional raising of the national flag and the institutional flag that this year was in charge of the collaborators Raymundo Jiménez, dean of the Medicine Area, on behalf of the former employees; Leocadio Gómez, from the Purchasing Department, as the newest employee; Junior Beriguete, as the awarded employee of 2011; and on behalf of Alfredo Morillo, awarded professor of 2011, was the deputy dean of Basic and Environmental Sciences, Leticia Mendoza.

A large part of the more than 5,000 students that today make up the university's enrollment also joined the celebration. Dressed in red they shared a toast prepared especially for them on the platform. The month of October is the prelude to the celebration of the 2011 Intecnology, a technological projects fair that this year will present to India, as a guest country.
