2021: Year of Institutional Resilience

SANTO DOMINGO. - After having lived an atypical year 2020, which led the world to reinvent itself in the face of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) declared 2021 as the Institutional Resilience Year.

With a message addressed to the entire international community, the rector Julio Sanchez Marinez indicates that this proclamation is “an invitation to persist in the search for new ways of adapt to changing circumstances amidst the uncertainty, without ever losing the focus in our institutional objectives, and that at the same time motivates us not to limit ourselves and envision new and innovative goals that had not been identified ”.

Sánchez Maríñez suggests that, as an institution, INTEC should focus on charting its own new reality, serving as an innovative model for other institutions. He called on the entire academic community to continue reorienting the way in which the university achieves its institutional objectives with creative commitment and to overcome together this local and global crisis as a renewed, forward-looking, transformative and resilient institution.

In the message, the rector valued that, given the panorama caused by COVID-19, the international community has shown the ability to get over at adversities and to continue taking advantage of these uncertain times as open doors to achieve institutional vision to be a space that inspires the creation of knowledge, innovation and excellence, to contribute to the transformation and sustainable development of society.
