The Dominican Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology recognizes the Dean of Health Sciences at INTEC


Dr. Miguel Robiou was honored for his contributions to the academic training of specialist physicians, and the VI Dominican Athenaeum of Orthopedic and Traumatology Residents was dedicated to him.

SANTO DOMINGO. The dean of Area of ​​Health Sciences of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Miguel RobiouWas recognized awarded by the Dominican Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology for his outstanding contributions to the training of generations of orthopedic and trauma specialists.

The recognition took place during the VI Dominican Association of Orthopedic and Traumatology Residents, an event dedicated to Dr. Robiou's role as the ideologist and promoter of the Orthopedic and Traumatology Resident Associations, which took place on April 12 in La Vega. During the event, the Dean of Health Sciences at INTEC received a recognition plaque from the Society's president, Héctor López, and its secretary general, José Silverio, representing the entire board of directors of the medical association.

"It's an honor to be recognized by my esteemed colleagues at this event. For me, knowledge is a gift that should be selflessly shared with others. I am infinitely grateful for this distinction," said the orthopedic and traumatologist.

The Dominican Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology expressed that the dedication of the event is made "in honor of his invaluable work as a pillar of the academic fraternity of orthopedic programs. Through his dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence, he has strengthened the ties that unite us as a profession, contributing to the development of future generations of orthopedists and traumatologists."

Robiou is a physician, a graduate of the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU), specializing in Orthopedics and Traumatology from the Salvador B. Gautier Hospital. He also has qualifications in Clinical Research Methodology; Hip and Pelvic Surgery and Joint Replacement; Teaching Management; Teacher Certification; and Competency-Based Teacher Evaluation, among others.

He first assumed the position of Dean of Health Sciences at INTEC in September 2018, being reappointed for a second term in October 2021 and then for a third term in November 2024, valid until 2027.

The VI Dominican Athenaeum of Orthopedic and Traumatology Residents is organized by the Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology to strengthen the training of our future specialists, promoting excellence and professional growth in the field of orthopedics.
