Claro and INTEC sign collaboration agreement


SANTO DOMINGO. -The telecommunications company Clear and Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) signed a agreement de connectivity for the ones students, teachers y collaborators of the academy can access plans fixed internet y at special prices.

The collaboration is part of the agreement recently signed by the telecommunications company with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), the Dominican Association of Universities (ADOU) and the Dominican Association of University Rectors (ADRU), in the which is committed to facilitating access to connectivity for more than 600 students and 30 teachers from the 51 universities in the country.

The agreement was signed by Walter Schall Pou, Claro's Vice President of Sales and Services for Corporate Clients and SMEs, and Rolando M. Guzmán, Rector of INTEC.

During the event, held in the INTEC Rectory Hall, Claro executives highlighted that the alliance allows the company to grant higher education students and teachers the opportunity to take advantage of technology and connectivity, to ensure the continuity of their professional training and university academic teaching, respectively.

Meanwhile, Guzmán affirmed that the university is aware that, in the current situation that the world is going through, facilitating access to connectivity to the entire population is a highly important resource. He specified that INTEC sees the agreement with Claro as an opportunity for students and teachers to be able to maintain teaching virtually, and collaborators have access to the Internet to carry out teleworking.

This action is in line with the company's Sustainability strategy, which reiterates its commitment to be catalysts for the sustainable and comprehensive development of Dominican society through connectivity and, in particular, to promote higher education in our country.

The special fixed internet plans developed by Claro contemplate unlimited browsing and include installation, WiFi modem and email account. Those of mobile internet include a wifi router and 5 times more internet than the commercial plan. These plans are already available and to access them, each university must endorse the requests of its students and teachers.

This new value proposition based on the internet service arises in response to the new needs of the education sector and as a way to continue its historical support for education, through the use of its technological infrastructure.
