INTEC's Research Information Systems Portal is indexed to euroCRIS database
The indexing took place after the participation of professor Manuel Madé in the event on CRIS platforms, organized by the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE) in Paris, which brought together international leaders in the field of research information systems.
PARIS, FRANCE. – The portal for updated information system on research (CRIS) of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) was indexed in the database of euroCRIS (DRIS ID: 02516), an international non-profit association founded in 2002 to bring together experts in research information in general and in research information systems (CRIS) in particular.
This achievement was the result of the participation of Manuel Made, INTEC research professor, who was part of the euroCRIS Strategic Membership Meeting 2024, a meeting that brought together international leaders in the field of research information systems (CRIS), with an emphasis on open access and open science, held at the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE) in Paris, France.
The teacher was invited by the President of EuroCRIS, Jan Dvořák, as well as the Secretary Pablo de Castro, to present on the development of CRIS platforms in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. During his presentation he addressed national and regional strategies, emerging technologies, as well as the challenges and opportunities of implementing these systems in local contexts.
His presentation highlighted the crucial role of CRIS in scientific dissemination, institutional reputation and its impact on innovation and project financing.
The implementation of CRIS systems not only optimizes the management of research data, but also fosters global collaboration between institutions. By providing a centralized platform that facilitates the visibility and accessibility of scientific production, CRIS promote strategic alliances, knowledge sharing and the internationalization of research, strengthening the role of universities and research centers in global networks.
The event also included sessions on artificial intelligence applied to CRIS, as well as global strategies to promote open science, strengthening collaboration networks between academic and research institutions. “This achievement positions INTEC and the region as relevant players in the international scenario of scientific information management,” said Madé.
La euroCRIS mission The aim of the CRIS is to foster cooperation and knowledge exchange across the research information community and to promote interoperability of research information through the CERIF standard, the Common European Research Information Format. Other areas of activity also cover, among others, the (global) adoption of CRIS systems by various stakeholders, research information infrastructures at institutional, regional, national and international levels, best practices in system interoperability and the use and implementation of standards in CRIS such as identifiers, formats, semantics, (controlled) vocabularies, etc.
Manuel Madé is a humanistic educator with more than 14 years of experience as a teacher, working with diverse groups, from children to older adults. He currently works as coordinator of the INTEC Research Division.
