Environment, INTEC and USAID graduate 66 Professionals and Technicians of the Environmental Area


While the purpose of Diploma in Executive Leadership and Institutional Strengthening is to train and strengthen the human resources structure of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) linked to the environmental issue to increase their capacity to design and execute projects and programs that are sustainable in the long term. 

With this IV Graduation, the USAID Program for Environmental Protection has already certified to 311 Dominican professionals and technicians in diploma courses Environmental Impact Assessment, Management of Protected Areas, Management of Micro-watersheds, Cleaner Production, Municipal Environmental Management y Executive Leadership and Institutional Strengthening.

The graduation ceremony was led by the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Ing. Ernesto Reyna Alcántara, the Rector of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo DomingoRolando Guzmán, the USAID Economic Policy Advisor, Duty Greene, the Director of the USAID Program for Environmental Protection, Ing. Indhira de Jesús, and the Environmental Protection Program Manager at INTEC, Dr. José Contreras . 

In the first course, 35 participated and graduated, while in the second course they participated and graduated 31. Both graduates were taught by INTEC.

The United States government through USAID will continue to support the Dominican Republic with technical assistance for environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources, focusing mainly on Adaptation to Climate Change, so that the country can continue facing the great challenges imposed by global climate changes.
