INTEC and the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse sign an academic cooperation agreement.
SANTO DOMINGO. - The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INP Toulouse), in France, signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of strengthening academic and educational cooperation between the two institutions.
The agreement signed by INTEC Rector Julio Sánchez Maríñez and INP Toulouse President Dominique Poquillon will be valid for five years. Both academies committed to exchanging academic and administrative staff and encouraging student mobility, joint supervision of doctoral studies, and the development of collaborative research projects.
The agreement also includes conferences, symposia, and the exchange of information and academic materials.
After signing the agreement, Sánchez Maríñez indicated that the agreement is significant for the Dominican university because it paves the way for academic and research collaboration with one of the largest engineering universities in France.
For her part, the president of INP Toulue emphasized that this is an opportunity for them to expand their collaboration with the Caribbean, as France is interested in collaborating with the islands in this geographic area due to a series of common problems with French overseas territories.
During the day, INTEC authorities participated in meetings with the president of INP Toulouse to present the institutional strengths of both universities and define strategies for implementing the agreement.
As part of their work agenda, the Dominican delegation toured the Labège campus and visited the National School of Chemical and Technological Engineering (ENSIACET), where they met with Professor Odile Dechy-Cabaret, Director of Studies, and with leading researchers from the Agroindustrial Chemistry (LCA) and Chemical Engineering (LGC) laboratories, including Professors Sophie Thiebaud, Virginie Vandenbossche, Helene Roux de Balmann, and Patricia Taillandier.
They also visited the National School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Hydraulics, and Telecommunications (INP ENSEEIHT), where they were welcomed by Director Martial Coulon.
This agreement reinforces INTEC's commitment to internationalization and academic excellence, promoting high-level training and research opportunities for students and faculty globally.
