INTEC participates in the third meeting of the RIBIERSE–CYTED 2025 Network
The meeting brought together researchers, teachers and technical leaders from across Latin America to discuss the progress, challenges and opportunities marked by the transition to renewable electricity systems.
SANTO DOMINGO. - The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) was part of the Third annual meeting of the RIBIERSE–CYTED Network 2025, held at the University Francisco Jose de Calda, in collaboration with the University of Jaen (Spain).
The meeting brought together researchers, teachers and technical leaders from across Latin America to discuss the progress, challenges and opportunities that marks the transition to large-scale renewable electricity systems.
During the session dedicated to Methodologies for planning, evaluation, control and management of large-scale renewable energies, Miguel Euclides Aybar-Mejía, INTEC research professor, served as moderator of Commission OneEntitled “Methodologies for evaluating the realistic potential of electricity generation through the hybridization of renewable sources”.
In this space, Aybar-Mejía led the technical dialogue between specialists from the region, promoting the presentation of joint projects, research opportunities for theses, the development of applied models and the articulation between business and academia.
The session allowed for a deeper exploration of the emerging methodologies to estimate more accurately the realistic potential of renewable generationthrough intelligent combination of solar, wind, hydroelectric power and storage systemsThe event agenda included sessions on optimal management of hybrid systems, electric mobility, regulatory barriers in Latin American countries y training strategies for researchers and end users.
They participated in the meeting professors, researchers and specialists belonging to the RIBIERSE-CYTED Network, integrated by academic institutions and research centers de Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
By actively integrating into the RIBIERSE-CYTED Network, the INTEC strengthens its leadership in renewable integration, energy hybridization and the development of analysis tools for electrical planning, Especially in island countries.
