INTEC graduates the first promotion of Social Communication and Digital Media


SANTO DOMINGO. -The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) delivered titles a 668 new professionals, including the first graduates for the Bachelor's degree in Social Communication and Digital Media, During the sixty-second graduation of the University.

El President Julio Sanchez Marinez, when addressing the graduates, stressed that the INTEC experience with his intense work, his basic training in science and technology, the teamwork in studies and projects, with a focus on creativity and continuous learning, together with the curious and imaginative spirit of their generation, they will be sufficient bases for them to successfully navigate the multiple scenarios that they will go through in their professional and citizen becoming.

"My enthusiastic congratulations for this important achievement in their lives, an indispensable step on which they can lean to advance, as they will surely do, in the achievement of new and successive goals," said Sánchez Maríñez.

During the ceremony, they were invested 364 women y 304 men, of which 478 graduates (71.56%) belong to grade level y 190 (28.29%) at the level of postgraduate.

When pronouncing the order speech, Rafael Piantini, manager Human Resources of the ITABO Industrial Park, highlighted that, graduates of INTEC occupy a 30% of the total number of professionals working in that free zone, making it the workplace that brings together the largest number of INTEC graduates.

“Each of you is a company and you must see yourself as such, have a clear vision and mission and establish your objectives to achieve your goals. The name of your company is called your life, therefore, always invest in yourself to be better professionals in your areas of knowledge and stay competitive, "he said.

Lois Gabriela Bournigal Infante, Bachelor of Business Administration and Management, graduated with him higher index, gave the speech of appreciation on behalf of the graduates. In it he called them to look inside.  "Our path at INTEC has been a process of getting to know each other, constantly reviewing ourselves, and that relationship with ourselves has strengthened us," he said, while exhorting graduates to look within and seek in them the strength they will need to do facing the challenges of life.

Postgraduate scholarships

As a way of recognizing and stimulating its graduates and outstanding graduates of the May 2021 class, the INTEC granted five full scholarships for postgrads studies highest rates of each of the academic areas of the University.

Graduates in the labor market

According to the results of the 2021 Graduate Employability Survey carried out by the Planning and Quality Directorate and the Graduate Relations Unit, one year after graduation, 96 of every 100 INTEC graduates are employed and of that amount, a 66% get a job before graduation.

The survey, which is applied annually with the aim of knowing the professional trajectory and position in the labor market that INTEC graduates have had, showed that up to 92.85% work in their study area; 70% in the private sector y 13.61% in the public sector.

Of the 668 graduates, 124 completed their academic programs with honors, of that total 46 Magna Cum Laude, 36 are Summa Cum Laude and 42 graduated Cum Laude. Likewise, 17 of them belong to the INTEC Program with Outstanding Students (PIES), a pioneering initiative of the university that grants study scholarships for students of excellence. Of the total PIES graduates, 13 received degrees with academic honors; nine Summa Cum Laude, two Magna Cum Laude and two Cum Laude.

Of the total of graduates, 38.92% to the Engineering Area; 26.95% belong to the Economy and Business Area; 18.26% to the Health Sciences Area; 8.68% to the Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities, and 7.19% to the Area of ​​Basic and Environmental Sciences. Similarly, 54.49% are women and 45.51% are men.
