All graduates from four of the five academic areas of INTEC are employed during their first year of graduation


The general employability rate of INTEC graduates is 99.57% according to the most recent Employability Survey conducted by the university

SANTO DOMINGO. – Graduates from the academic areas of Economics and Business, Engineering, Basic and Environmental Sciences and Social Sciences and Humanities of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) achieved 100% employability one year after graduating. 

According to the 2023 Graduate Employability Survey, conducted in 2024 by the Planning Department and with the support of the university's Graduate Relations Unit, 99 out of every 100 INTEC graduates are employed and, of that number, 73.04% were already employed at the time of completing their university degree. 

In the case of the Health Sciences Area, its graduates have achieved a high employability rate of 93.75%. 

The survey, which is applied annually with the aim of knowing the professional career and positioning in the labor market of graduates, showed that 95.22% are working in their field of study. 74.78% of employees are working in the private sector and 20% in the public sector, while 4.35% have started their own businesses. 

Likewise, of the total population that declared to be employed, 30.87% responded that it was their first job. Based on their job function, 64.35% declared to have a mid-level position, 11.74% belong to the high-level category and 3.91% are business owners. In other words, a total of 80.87% of INTEC graduates are in good employment positions, which reaffirms the relevance of the programs and the quality of the training that the institution offers.

Economic activity

In another order, the economic activity to which the companies in which the INTEC graduates consulted work are dedicated is composed as follows: 22.61% are concentrated in consulting, marketing, education and training services; 15.22% are dedicated to social and health services. y14.78% are focused on financial intermediation. Meanwhile, another 13.48% work in the manufacturing industry; 12.17% are involved in the telecommunications, transportation and logistics sector, and 10% are dedicated to trade.

According to the sector to which the company where INTEC graduates work belongs, it is observed that 48.70% corresponds to the national private sector, while 18.26% work in the centralized public administration (central government: ministries, general directorates, etc.), 14.35% in multinational companies (outside the free zone sector), 10% in free zone companies, 3.48% in decentralized public administration (city councils, institutes, etc.), 2.17% in international organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)/foundations/social sector and the remainder is concentrated in other sectors.

The Employability Survey is a tool that assesses the employability rate of the institution's graduates, and is applied to the community of graduates one year after graduating. 

INTEC has a job placement program called “INTEC te busca empleo” (INTEC seeks employment for you) that connects the institution’s graduates with companies looking to hire them. Likewise, INTEC’s Graduate Relations Office also manages the institution’s participation in the QVITAE application, which allows employers to publish vacancies and view the profiles of the institution’s graduates.
