INTEC and HV Civil Group will offer professional internships and postgraduate scholarships
Through a collaboration agreement, HV Civil Group will provide two scholarships covering 100% of tuition for studies in the Master's Degree in Construction Management Science at INTEC
SANTO DOMINGO. - The company HV Civil Group awarded two scholarships for civil engineers to study Master of Science in Construction Management, which offers the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
This is what is contemplated in the collaboration signed by the rector of INTEC, Julio Sánchez Maríñez, and the CEO of HV Civil Group, Henry Veloz, who is an INTEC graduate. The beneficiaries of the scholarships are Raymond Merejo and Alicia Morillo.
A second agreement consists of the execution from an internship program so that INTEC students with relevant merits and skills, and who perform well in their final periods of curricular training, can do their internship at the construction company. The term of validity of both agreements is two years, as stipulated in the agreements.
Rector Julio Sánchez Maríñez thanked HV Civil Group for signing both agreements, as they guarantee opportunities for young people who are being trained with the aim of contributing to society through the productive system.
“Thank you, Henry, for remembering your alma mater, for remembering the Dominican talent, which is abundant but needs opportunities, and in this way for remembering the country,” Sánchez Maríñez said.
Engineer Henry Veloz, CEO of HV Civil Group, said that it is an honor for him that his alma mater allows him to give back something that was already given to him: the opportunity to study at INTEC. “With these scholarships and this internship program, I am contributing my grain of sand to the solution of the problems that affect our country,” he said.
During the event were present academic authorities and university directors, among them Rosario Aróstegui, Vice-Rector for Research and Liaison at INTEC; the deans Cayetano Rodríguez, from the Engineering Department; Shajira Nazir, from the Economics and Business Department; and Dalul Ordehi, from the Social Sciences and Humanities Department.
Also present were directors Carol Santiago, from Institutional Relations; Carlos Reyes, from Continuing Education; Carlos Sanlley, from Research; and Natividad Espinal, from Student Services.
