They teach a Diploma in Design and Management of Public-Private Partnerships


SANTO DOMINGO. - The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) started the first round of the Diploma in Design and Management of Public-Private Partnerships (APP), based on the regulations of the 47-20 law that regulates the issue and was promulgated with the aim of facilitating the development de infrastructure y services of social interest.

A multidisciplinary group of professionals, made up of more than 30 professionals belonging to important law firms, engineering firms, trust companies, banks and state entities make up what promises to be one of the most important programs within the University's continuing education offer. .

"With this step we show that our institution is at the forefront in terms of a continuing education offer aligned with the needs and demands of the productive sectors, obviously including the government sector," said Carlos Reyes Gómez, director of Permanent Education at INTEC.

Law 47-20 and its Implementing Regulations constitute the new regulatory framework that regulates this type of alliance; a fundamental pillar for the development of important infrastructure and service solutions in emerging economies.

The program is taught by Jessica Espitia, Colombian lawyer specialized in the subject at the Latin American level and knowledgeable in depth of Law 47-20; and Albert Viu, Spanish expert en Economy and Finance.

The diploma course will last 10 weeks and consists of the following modules: Introduction, basic concepts and generalities of the APP; planning, organization and structuring of projects under the PPP modality; legal framework of public-private partnerships in the Dominican Republic; study and economic-financial evaluation of projects under the PPP modality; allocation and risk management of PPP projects and case studies in Latin America.

About Law 47-20

The law creates the General Directorate of Public-Private Alliances as an autonomous and decentralized entity of the State, attached to the Ministry of the Presidency, with the mission of promoting and regulating public-private alliances and its maximum direction will be exercised by a National Council and an Executive Directorate.
